Ram — Your jewelry consultant

Purpose and publisher

Ram estimates contained gold value and explains jewelry retail prices. The publisher is the developer identified on Ram’s Chrome Web Store listing. Contact that publisher through the support contact on the listing.

What Ram accesses

Only after you click its toolbar icon, Ram reads the current page’s URL, title, product structured data, price metadata and product or main-page text to identify jewelry details. Main-page text may include unrelated or personal content if you run it on a different type of page. Ram does not scan your browsing history, continuously monitor tabs, read cookies or record keystrokes.

The review page also uses your browser language/region settings to suggest a country. This is not precise geolocation. You can change country, currency, price, purity, weight and tax assumptions locally.

Local storage and retention

Ram processes the page locally and stores a reduced product summary—including the selected page URL/title, price, currency, weight, purity and extraction warnings—in Chrome session storage to pass it to the review tab. Raw captured page text is not retained there. Session storage is not synced and is cleared when the browser session ends or the extension is disabled, reloaded or removed. Values you edit and quotes used in an open review page stay in that page’s memory until it is closed or reloaded. No product database is operated by the publisher.

External requests

Each toolbar action opens a review that requests three gold-price pages over HTTPS: Achat Or et Argent (Godot & Fils), Gold.fr and BullionByPost Europe. Ram compares the displayed 24K EUR-per-gram benchmarks, uses the highest valid quote, and shows included or excluded sources and timestamps. Each refresh requests the pages again; no background polling is used. An optional source selected by you requests Gold-API.com. Currency conversion for manual quotes requests ECB reference rates through Frankfurter. Ram sends no product URL, page text, product price, weight or purity to quote services and omits browser credentials and the referrer.

Network providers necessarily receive your IP address, request time, endpoint and normal connection/browser metadata; currency requests also reveal the requested currency pair. Their servers may log these under their own policies. The publisher does not receive these requests or operate a proxy. The publisher cannot control third-party log retention. Provider sites: Godot & Fils, Gold.fr, BullionByPost Europe, Gold-API.com, Frankfurter.

If you follow source or product links, those websites apply their own privacy and cookie practices, separately from the extension.

Use and sharing

Page and product data are used only to provide the jewelry calculation you request. Ram contains no analytics, advertising, account system or sale of user data. It does not share captured product/page data with the publisher or other parties, use it for advertising, or use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions. Ram’s use of information received through Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your controls

You may correct inputs, use a manual quote, close the review tab, disable the extension or uninstall it. Closing a review tab removes its in-page inputs; a reduced captured summary may remain in session storage until the session ends. Disabling or removing the extension clears that session storage. Host access can also be managed in Chrome’s extension settings; blocking a provider will prevent its quote from loading.

Changes

Material changes to data handling will be disclosed in the extension and this policy before they take effect. This policy describes version 0.1.2.
